Prepare Your Skin For Fall Weather Posted on 5 Oct 12:30 , 0 comments

Making the transition from Summer to Fall can take a difficult toll on all of us. It’s finally time to put away the shorts and bring out the jeans and sweaters. Fall may signal the return of Pumpkin Spice Lattes and cider but as the leaves change colors, the days become shorter, and the temperatures start to drop our skin starts to lose the moisture it once had. Summer skincare is fairly simple: moisturize, apply SPF, and regularly clean your face but just because your body is being covered by scarves and sweaters in the fall does not mean we should neglect our skin. That's why there is no better time than fall to start a new skin care regime. Here are 7 skincare tips to keep you looking your best throughout the fall!

  1. Re-Evaluate Your Body and Face Cleanser

As the air becomes dry, our skin becomes drier, you want to make sure your cleanser is hydrating enough to get you through the cold days. Choose a cleanser that emphasizes hydration, this will keep your skin looking radiant even on the driest of days.

  1. Moisturize Every Day!

Moisturizer is an important part of our daily routine. Applying moisturizer correctly boosts hydration in your skin, prevents flaking, and creates a protective layer of moisture that lasts all day. Find one that's right for you and use it daily!

  1. Sunscreen is still a must!

Don't say goodbye to your sunscreen just because the summer is over, before you start your day apply a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 15 or more. I recommend choosing a product that combines a sunscreen with a moisturizer! This will keep your skin hydrated and protected from the sun.

  1.  Keep your lips moisturized

There is nothing more frustrating than chapped lips during the cold weather. Protect your lips from drying out this season by always carrying lip balm with you!

  1. Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate!

A regular exfoliation routine can help rid of the outer layer of dead skin cells and keeps your skin from looking lifeless and dull. Exfoliation should be done with care and with caution!

  1. Listen To Your Skin

One of the first mistakes people make when using products on their skin is using a product that doesn't necessarily fit their skin type. You know your skin better than anyone, so do whats right for it. If your skin is oily look for lotions instead of creams. If your skin is dry find a cream, there is more oil in a cream and therefore it is thicker substance and will hydrate the skin better.

  1. Drink water!

Lastly, hydrate your skin from within by drinking lots of water. If your skin is not getting the sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration will present itself by turning your skin dry, tight, and flaky so always have a water bottle on you and drink up!
